An exciting opportunity has arisen to join an ambitious, growing publishing organisation as a Marketing and Communications Manager. The successful candidate will join a dynamic marketing department and support ongoing global brand development and marketing strategies. With new projects being launched within the next 12 months, it’s an exciting time for a new candidate to come onboard and continue developing our brands and marketing strategy.
Working Mon to Fri 9 – 5.30pm with free parking, we offer a salary up to £35k, plus company benefits, including a pension scheme.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director and being responsible for 2 reports, as well as working closely with other departments, the job role of Marketing and Communications Manager will include:
Performance and operational management of a small team working across multiple
marketing and communication activities
Develop an annual marketing and strategy plan in conjunction with other departments
Design and develop creative marketing ideas for product and brand development
To follow and keep up-to-date a clear set of company brand and style guidelines
Build and manage key relationships with existing and new media partners to maximise product exposure
Manage opportunities with social media sites
Develop digital communications including targeted email campaigns
Manage the main website and develop a web strategy
Monitor, evaluate and report on the effectiveness of marketing campaigns
Budget management of all marketing activity
Manage the production and effective distribution of company marketing materials
Maintaining and updating customer databases
To act as a key representative/ambassador on behalf of the company at relevant international events
As an international business, the candidate will be expected at times if so required, to work outside normal business hours
To be successful for the Marketing and Communications Manager role you will have a proven background in marketing and ideally have publishing, media or events industry experience. Other skills include:
An understanding of data analytics and interpretation
Ability to produce compelling and optimised copy while maintaining brand messaging, persuasiveness and readability
Creative thinker with proven campaign experience
Excellent working knowledge of social media channels
Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and remain calm under pressure
Knowledge of marketing software and integration with CRM systems
A thorough understanding of data protection regulations (e.g. GDPR ruling)
