Deciding What To Say – Welcome To Our New Blog

Blog

There is an old saying about writing – write what you know. You would think that after over 40 years of helping people into the right positions and finding the very best of people for our clients, we would have no trouble knowing what to write about here. In actual fact it makes putting these articles together a little more difficult. It’s a little bit like being a child in a sweet shop; there is so much choice you are not always sure where to start.

Certainly we will be looking at recruitment news and trends as well as other related issues. As you would expect keeping up with current events and trends in the recruitment and employment world is part of our day here at Personnel Selection. So one of the reasons for these articles is to pass on any interesting, informative or important information we find. Legislation and employment law changes all the time, but there are also shifting trends within the area that could have an effect on both candidates and employers.

For our candidates we will be looking at the employment process, giving you hints, tips and advice, and offering guidance on how you can help us to place you in the right position. We want you to succeed and amongst the team we have a wealth of knowledge and experience that we are really happy to pass on to you. The better prepared you are the more likely you are to get the job you want. I am sure you all know the basics such as the need for a good CV or preparing for an interview, but there are all sorts of small things that you can do to really make a difference to your chances of finding that role you always wanted.

We also want to make sure we are helping our clients. For us recruitment is not just about filling the role. There is no ‘one size fits all’ solution to our clients needs so we want these articles to reflect that. The process of recruiting and selecting the perfect workforce is a joint effort so we will be discussing HR and recruitment related items from the point of view of the employer as well.

Most of all we want these articles to be supportive and helpful; so we would really like suggestions from you about what to cover. Contact us through the usual channels with any suggestions.
