We are an international coating organisation supplying a diverse range of clients with laboratory standard finishes to a range of products. Working within our clean room production area the Assembly and Coating Production Assistant will assist with non-technical production and masking of intricate products, coatings and coverings using small hand help equipment and tools whilst ensuring the equipment is kept clean and running smoothly. The role would suit candidates with previous assembly type work experience or someone looking to retrain having previously worked in a hands on role in another sector that required an eye for detail and fine skills. You may also be a recent College or University leaver seeking a hands on role to complement your engineering or technical studies before progressing your career. We can offer Mon to Fri working hours 8am to 4.30pm and may also consider part time hours too with free parking and the potential to worek your way up to a £23k salary after full training and through progression within the business.
The Assembly and Coating Production Assistant works as part of a team of 15 in our modern clean room manufacturing facility with free parking. To be successful you should have an eye for detail and accurate manual dexterity skills gained from previous work within assembly, technology, production, electrical or similar environments where you are working to fine detail and accuracy. The role has a pay rise after completion of the probationary period and further increases as you train and progress.
During the initial 3 months in this role, many tasks are learned and skills developed. Primary functions are the masking and/or de-masking of the customer products being coated. Other duties may include cleaning, surface preparation and inspection.
Understand and follow the designated processes, work instructions, Manufacturing Standard Procedures (MSP’s) and other written and/or verbal instructions.
Perform basic masking/de-masking and inspection tasks using methods and materials as specified in the designated processes using small hand tools, microscope and /or other support equipment.
Successfully complete Masker certification in accordance with internal documentation. Training will be provided
Inspect own work for quality compliance

Comply with Electrostatic Discharge(ESD) handling requirements when required and appropriate.
Maintain a high level of punctuality and attendance.
May perform daily tasks in a clean room environment where compliance to clean room protocol, including PPE and hygiene standards will be required.
May perform scheduled clean room maintenance.
Maintain a high level of personal hygiene.
Maintain a neat and orderly work area.
You must clearly speak, read and write English
Ability to comprehend written and verbal instructions, short correspondence and memos.
Ability to perform basic math functions.
Ability to work in a seated position for extended periods of time.
High degree of manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination in order to perform precision masking and de-masking functions.
Ability to distinguish between the colours of red, orange, yellow, blue, green and violet.
Candidates with previous experience of a role that requires an eye for detail, small and detailed work such as assembly, production, catering preparation, clean room or medical/lab work would be of interest.
