We are one of the UK’s largest retailers of premium trampolines and due to internal movement are looking to recruit a Global Business Development Channel Manager to manage our global Distributor sales channel. As well as selling direct to consumer in the UK, we have appointed Distributors in various countries around the world and need someone to manage the existing relationships and to find and develop new Distributors in other countries.
We are a growing SME company, providing our top of the range products to both domestic and commercial environments worldwide, predominantly through ecommerce. We are based in a rural environment near Woking and would expect this role to be a combination of office based and working from home arrangement.
Having driven strong continual growth over recent years, the Global Business Development Channel Manager will manage the 8 distributor network countries including America, Australia and Europe that are already established as well as develop into more of Europe and other countries across the world.
The ideal candidate will have a proven aptitude and experience for consultative selling in a B2B role and an understanding on the manufacturing and supply chain process. You will also have an awareness of ecommerce selling and online marketing, as well as the ability to develop and work to strategic plans. This is viewed as one of the more senior positions within the company, so candidates would be expected to have 5 years plus of relevant experience and at interview stage be able to demonstrate that they have the required skills and experience to thrive in the position.
The successful candidate will work alongside the current Global Channel Partner Development Manager for the next 12 months prior to retirement and during this period will gain all the necessary skills and knowledge to allow them to successfully take on the role on their own in the future.
Working the hours of 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday (with some flexibility for international calls) we will offer a salary of up to £45k, pension scheme, discretionary annual bonus based on company performance, 20 days holiday plus bank holidays and free onsite parking. International travel will also be required for this role with overnight stays.
As a company we employ over 40 staff and while this role will be a standalone role, you will work closely with and report into the MD as well as integrate with the customer service departments, marketing, logistics and sales teams. The main duties will include:
• Manage relationships with Channel partners and online global retail marketplaces.
• Monitor sales and operational results
• Proactively assesses, clarify, and validate partner needs on an ongoing basis.
• Negotiate with partners.
• Develop sales strategies to identify and expand distributor network.
• Research target areas and assess viability based on key factors.
As a company we invest in staff, and an intense training program would be provided.
To be successful for the Global Business Development Channel Manager you will have proven experience working within a business-to-business role whereby you have dealt with stakeholders at all levels. Experience within a consultative business development, channel manager and/or account management role ideally within the manufacturing sector and retail sector. You need to have a strong understanding and awareness of ecommerce and online marketing as well as online retail marketplaces to enable you to target strong sales channel partners. Strong communication skills are a must as is being a self-starter who can help grow and manage existing client bases. Experience of sales data analysis and reporting skills are essential as is a financial aptitude.
