Trainee Service Technician

Job Description:

We require a Trainee Service Technician to join our Head Office and Manufacturing teams in Alton working as part of our busy team within the service and logistics department as part of our service department where we repair and service equipment for our clients.  The role would suit candidates who have recently left School or College who are seeking their first full time role in a hands on technical environment where we can provide you with full training and support on our products and equipment that we service and repair. We would also consider those candidates with previous work experience within retail, hospitality, warehouse or production seeking a permanent job with a successful local employer that can develop your skills into a career rather than just a job.

The Trainee Service Technician role will be working Mon to Fri with an early finish on a Friday. Once fully trained you will be undertaking the following duties within the department:

Assessment, repair and quotation of service jobs.

Calibration of various Testo and non-Testo equipment, predominately flue gas analysers.

Provide assistance with following:

• Faults with equipment
• Explanation of quotations
• Pricing of repairs / calibration
• Status updates on jobs / repairs (mainly to order processing)

Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and each job is handled with due diligence

Assist in the inspection of goods returned for credit

Maintain stock organisation and assist in the weekly placement of service stock

Ensure Outgoing & Incoming jobs are progressed in a timely manner

Assisting other departments with logistics and order processing

To be successful you should have a good work ethic and be keen to learn. We would be keen to hear from candidates who have any manual skills using hand held tools, any electrical or engineering qualifications or perhaps have a hobby that requires you to repair or re build or is very hands on. You should be PC literate and be confident and enthusiastic.
